Lunar New Year Celebration at the Seaport
Save the date on Saturday, February 17, for the upcoming Lunar New Year celebration at the Seaport in partnership with the New York Chinese Cultural Center and the South Street Seaport Museum. Activities will take place throughout the day as we come together to welcome the Year of the Wood Dragon.
TRADITIONAL LION DANCE
Three lion dance performances will take place on Seaport Square, kicking off at 1:00pm. If you miss your chance to catch the action and snap some photos during the first performance, the lions will perform again for you to enjoy.
CHINESE CRAFTS & CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOPS
As part of the Lunar New Year celebration, visit the Seaport Museum to create your own Chinese Lion Chain craft with a maritime-inspired spin and join a skilled teaching artists from the New York Chinese Cultural Center for one of three delightful 45-minute workshops exploring the art of Chinese Calligraphy and its importance to the Lunar New Year.
