Join NRDC's Rewrite the Future at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival on January 25 at 11 a.m. PST / 12 p.m. MST / 1 p.m. CST / 2 p.m. EST for The Last Laugh: Comedy in the Age of Climate Change. The event will feature Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”) in conversation with Mike Schur (“The Good Place,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Brooklyn 99”) exploring how to tackle tough topics through comedy; why laughter is the best medicine; and how climate change can unlock creative opportunities.

Presented in collaboration with the Sundance Institute, NBCUniversal, Variety, Writers Guild of America East, Writers Guild of America West, and produced by YEA! Impact.

Reserve your tickets today: https://on.nrdc.org/3GUlCso Participant Biographies: Quinta Brunson stars in and serves as creator, showrunner, head writer, and executive producer of the ABC series “Abbott Elementary.” She has received 6 Emmy nominations and won the 2022 Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and the 2023 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Mike Schur created the NBC comedy “The Good Place,” and co-created "Parks and Recreation," "Brooklyn 99," and “Rutherford Falls." He is an Executive Producer on HBOMax’s “Hacks” and Netflix’s "Master of None." Schur spent 4 years as a writer-producer on NBC’s "The Office." His first TV writing job was at "Saturday Night Live.”

About Rewrite the Future: Rewrite the Future enlists the power of storytelling to help audiences envision a better future. We consult on film and television projects, bringing the expertise of NRDC’s 700+ environmental professionals to content across genres; we advise entertainment companies on integrating climate content into their sustainability strategies; we host workshops and presentations about representing climate and environmental topics onscreen; and we encourage new voices through NRDC’s Climate Storytelling Fellowship, in collaboration with the Black List, the Redford Center and CAA Foundation. NRDC’s Rewrite the Future is returning to the Sundance Film Festival for the fifth year in a row. Our programming continue to explore how the power of storytelling can shift culture narratives, build social movements, and create long-term impact.
