Women in Jazz Organization International Women's Day Jam
The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School's College of Performing Arts partners with the Women in Jazz Organization on March 8th, 2024 to celebrate International Women's Day! WIJO will host a jazz jam to celebrate Women in Jazz past and present. The first set will feature a spectacular house band featuring Caili O'Doherty on piano, Devon Gates on bass, and Maria Maramarou on drums. They will perform originals and tunes by other women in jazz such as Lil' Hardin Armstrong, Geri Allen, Shirley Scott, and Carla Bley.
The event is open to the public and welcomes all to the open jam session to follow.
