Under the weight of feathers
Choreography by Fouad Kouchy Performed by Yann Crayssac, Mounir Kerfah, Benjamin Midonet and Mounir Touaa Performance: Approx. 60min
In Under the weight of feathers (Sous le poids des plumes), four dancers from the collective Pyramid Company plunge into a dreamlike world where the motion of mime, hip-hop, physical theater, burlesque, and object manipulation melds and intertwines with their every movement. The sweet, funny, impertinent performance presents a succession of sketches of everyday life, which use the poetry of the dancers’ bodies to conjure a dreamlike world where memory is interrogated and the passage of time is reflected through movement. The audience is invited to question their own memories as the dancers strip the fragmented feathers of the past away bit by bit, until only a raw canvas remains.
