Several New York favorites -- and some surprising attractions -- have been named nominees for this year's first annual Concierge Choice Awards for their extraordinary service to the concierge community in the past year, and for providing exceptional experiences to New York visitors.

The New York City Association of Hotel Concierges (NYCAHC) have announced the nominees from twelve categories, selected by members of the NYCAHC and its Executive Board. Winners will be announced at the Concierge Choice Awards Dinner, hosted by City Guide Magazine, on Monday, September 17th at 6 p.m. at Tavern on the Green. Mary Murphy, the Emmy Award-winning weekend anchor of CW11 News at Ten, will emcee the evening’s festivities. The Concierge Choice Awards recognize the best of New York from the professionals who know the best of New York in any given category. Whether its visitors on vacation or business executives, each group has discerning tastes and needs, and often relies on the concierge for information on the city’s best dining, shopping, sights, nightlife, and entertainment and recreation destinations. In 2006, New York City hosted 44 million visitors, and spending has been rising steadily and is set to reach $24 billion by year’s end.

A listing of nominees will be posted on cityguideny.com and nycahc.org. A portion of the proceeds from the Concierge Choice Awards will benefit the Les Clefs d’Or Foundation and the NYCAHC Crisis Fund. For more information, or to purchase tickets, please contact David Miller at Davler Media Group, 212-315-0800, or dmiller@davlermedia.com.
