Unlike most stage works about Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas, this new musical is told from Alice's point of view. Gertrude, however, with her skill in creating such lines as "sugar is not a vegetable," grows tired of Alice's lack of storytelling panache and attempts to hijack the play. As the celebrated couple confronts each other about topics like love, marriage, jealousy, and genius, Pablo Picasso, F.
