Statue Cruises was recently selected by the National Park Service as the only provider of ferry transportation to the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island from Battery Park, as well as from Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Tickets: $12 adults/$10 seniors/$5 kids (with Audio Tour: $18/$16/$11).

Statue Cruises' Harbor Tour -

Statue Cruises, the National Park Service concession of ferry service to the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island, will be offering the seventy five - minute Liberty Harbor Cruise from Battery Park six times daily through Labor Day. The cost will be the same price as ferry tickets to the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island - $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors and $5.00 for children.

Passengers on the Liberty Harbor Cruise will receive a narration of the New York Harbor. The narration will identify the sights of the area as well as provide compelling historical background and some little-known facts of the area. Starting with the departure area around Battery Park and Pier A and continuing on a counter clockwise tour of the harbor, passengers will have uninterrupted views of all the mentioned in the narration.

As an official National Park Service tour, the Liberty Harbor Cruise is allowed special access to certain parts of the harbor. The Liberty Harbor Cruise will enter the ferry slip at Ellis Island, allowing a view of the great hall that passengers aboard other tours cannot have. The Liberty Harbor Cruise is also permitted to be closer to the Statue of Liberty than any other vessels, guaranteeing an unobstructed view of Lady Liberty.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer, the Liberty Harbor Cruise will dock at Governors Island and allows passengers to disembark if they wish. These passengers will be able to tour Fort Jay and Castle William and experience the rich history of Governors Island before returning to Manhattan on the regularly scheduled Governors Island ferry.

The Liberty Harbor Cruise is perfect for passengers with a limited amount of time. This cruises is 75 minutes from start to finish and is much shorter than a trip to Liberty or Ellis Island. Passengers on the Liberty Harbor Cruise will not be subjected to the same security requirements as passengers traveling to islands. Additionally, passengers ticketed for the ferry service to Liberty and Ellis Island will be able to use their ticket for the Liberty Harbor Cruise, without exchange, if they determine they would prefer the narrated cruise.
