"stalkTALK," the Web's only comedy series about a rehabilitation group for celebrity stalkers, brought home top honors for best web series at the 2011 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) on Thursday night. The series explores the lives of six celebrity stalkers (whose targets include David Hasselhoff, Larry David, Lindsay Lohan, Pee-Wee Herman, Chuck Norris and Ann Coulter) and their ever-comedic antics on the rocky road to recovery. Rachel Annette Helson, the youngest Tony-nominated producer in Broadway history, created, co-wrote, and appeared in "stalkTALK". "The entire cast and crew is elated to win, especially considering the quality of web series in 2011," said Helson. "We knew we had a funny concept, but it helps that both accomplished and up-and-coming talent want to explore this medium." Helson, who was nominated for the Tony Award in 2009 for her work on Neil LaBute's "reasons to be pretty", worked with fellow co-executive producer and cast member Wendelin Von Schroder to put together an impressive team for "stalkTALK," including co-writer Suzanne Gangursky ("The Nanny," "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,"); musical team Paul Buckley and Jack Diamond ("Seinfeld," "Will and Grace"); director David Ruttura (Associate Director of Broadway's "White Christmas and Lombardi"); actors Peter Gray Lewis ("Mad Men," "Stone," "Untraceable"); Brad Schmidt ("Lombardi," "Summerland"); and cast members Meaghan Oppenheimer, Paige Howard, Matthew Quinn Forbes, Islean Kirker and Jonathan O' Brien. As the largest competitive independent film event in the world, the NYIIFVF offers a unique platform for emerging and established filmmakers to network and screen their work. Helson and Gangursky have begun discussions with cable networks to explore adapting the series for television. The project is represented by Brad Rosenfeld of Preferred Artists. "stalkTALK" is also in the quarterfinal round for a Next TV Award.
