Nature Photography Workshops - Queens Botanical Garden

Two Workshops: Wildlife Photography - Saturday, March 10 (rain date March 24), 1 to 3:30pm; Flower Photography - Saturday, March 17, 1 to 3:30pm. Fee: $10/one workshop; $15/both workshops. Learn how to take better nature photos with QBG as your backdrop. Photographers Shari Romar and H. David Stein will offer a slide show of examples, and offer pointers on light, composition and working with wildlife or flower subjects. Workshops include approximately 45 minutes of outdoor photography followed by a critique of participants’ work. Beginning photographers are welcome. Participants are asked to bring their camera. The Orchid Show: Patrick Blanc's Vertical Gardens - New York Botanical Garden

Guest designer for this year's 10th Annual Orchid Show is Patrick Blanc, world-renowned French botanist and artist who will transform the Haupt Conservatory with his spectacular vertical walls of living foliate. Using thousands of orchids and companion planting as his palette, Blanc introduces towering spectacles of tropical life to the Conservatory. In an explosion of alluring design and fragrance, exotic plant walls rise high above, creating this season's not-to-be missed exhibition for garden lovers, orchid fans, and those desiring a one-day tropical retreat.
