Meet BeeZe the Bobcat - Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo

Meet our newest cat ambassador, learn about one of Connecticut’s top predators, and how Zoo staff has trained and worked with BeeZe to prepare him for public presentations and fun activities like painting. Kids, 6 and up, can create their own “animal” painting using rubber footprint stamps from some of our Zoo animals. After the program, enjoy cookies and hot chocolate by the fire. $10 for adults, $15 for kids 6 and up, program not recommended for kids under 6 years old. Registration required. Pancakes with Penguins - Mystic Aquarium

Mystic Lions Club and Mystic Aquarium present Pancakes with Penguins on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Guests will have an up close experience with one of Mystic Aquarium's African penguins while they enjoy pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit and beverages.
An African penguin and trainer will be at the breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and costumed sea creatures will be there throughout the breakfast.
Weird Science - Mystic Aquarium

Mystic Aquarium presents “Weird Science” Saturday, Feb. 16 through Sunday, Feb. 24 during school vacation week. Children’s curiosity comes alive as they witness weird and wonderful science demonstrations by Mystic Aquarium educators and special presentations by Keith Michael Johnson’s Bubbleology and Mad Science of Eastern Connecticut.
Keith Michael Johnson’s Bubbleology kicks off “Weird Science” on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Mad Science of Southeastern Connecticut’s daily, spellbinding presentations introduce children to the principles of air and pressure with hot air balloons, vortex generators and a hovercraft.
American Museum of Natural History’s Lunchtime Bird Walks in Central Park - American Museum of Natural History

Catch a glimpse of owls, songbirds, and woodpeckers in the woods, seed-eating birds in the fields, and multiple species of ducks and gulls in the lakes as ornithologist Paul Sweet guides you through three Central Park habitats to observe the varied bird species of New York City. Be sure to bring a pair of binoculars and wear comfortable shoes. Please note, this walk is more than an hour long over steps, slopes, and wood-chip paths. Walks start across from the Museum on the northeast corner of Central Park West and 77th Street. Walks are limited to 25 people per series.
This program is part of the celebration of the reopening of the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial at the American Museum of Natural History.
