The Staten Island Children's Museum appeals to the intrepid explorer in every child. Interactive exhibitions and creative workshops offer plenty of opportunities for hands-on, first hand experiences that nurture children's natural curiosity and creativity. Visits to the museum launch children on a voyage of discovery - about themselves and the world around them. From the SI Children's Museum: July's winding down, but we're not! Enjoy Up4Art walk-in art workshops this weekend and next, dance the night away on Boogie Woogie Wednesday-we're learning Feraba (West African Dance) this week, and there's fresh fruit galore to be eaten in our Health Plus Kidz Cook workshops on Friday! Ever try Strawberry Trifle? Saturday, July 23 Through Sunday, July 31 at the Staten Island Children's Museum Saturday & Sunday, July 23 & 24 Up4Art! Using glue and multi colored and textured papers, create your favorite animal Collage with Ron Chironna 1, 2 & 3 p.m. Wednesday. July 27 Boogie Woogie Wednesday Feraba! Learn and perform this West African dance which combines tapping and drumming with traditionAl West African rhythms. 5-8 p.m. Performance at 7 p.m. Free admission Friday, July 29 Health Plus Kidz Cook Strawberries are in abundance this month, and we're making Strawberry Trifle, a beautiful looking and great tasting old fashioned treat! 2, 3 & 4 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, July 30 & 31 Up4Art! Illustrate a favorite children's book cover, using Colored Pencils with Ron Chironna. 1, 2 & 3 p.m.
