Empire City at Yonkers Raceway, the plush, state-of-the-art video gaming facility which houses over 5,500 video lottery terminals plus world-class live harness racing and simulcasting from the nation's leading racetracks, will be celebrating its first anniversary on Thursday, October 11, with week-long festivities offering patrons the chance to win their share of $250,000 in cash and prizes.

Sun., 10/7, the festivities kick off with a "$1 Food Court Celebration," with delicious dishes for a buck including hot meatball wedge, chicken and vegetable stir fry, egg roll, pizza, hot dog, French fries and more. The rest of the week includes: the "Empire City Fall Classic Promotional Wheel" on Mon., 10/8; the "Two Times Tuesday" promotion on Tues., 10/9, when patrons receive double points on every machine; "Wheel or No Wheel" on Wed., 10/10; both the "$15,000 Spielo Free Play Sweeps" and "Royal Riches Lottery Promotion" on Fri., 10/12; a "$10,000 Spielo Free Play Sweeps" on Sat., 10/13; and the finale on Sun., 10/14, with a "$50,000 Free Play Sweeps" promotion during which 70 lucky winners have a chance to share the cash.

The coup de grace of the first-year shindig will be the "Happy Anniversary $100,000 Cash Sweep" on Thurs., 10/11, from noon to 11pm, during which 70 winners will share a total of $100,000. The "Stash the Cash" Game Show from 8-9pm that evening has a top prize of $20,000, as well as chances at $10,000 and $5,000 prizes. All Empire City card holders will also receive an anniversary gift, a commemorative pair of champagne flutes embossed with the Empire City logo to toast the big day.
