The new "Brews Blues & BBQ" series - featuring a collection of acclaimed breweries, live R&B/Blues bands, and beer-infused foods - takes place at The Beach at Governor's Island from noon to 6 p.m. on select Saturdays through September 17.

The Saturday series will profile the beers of one brewery exclusively, host a distinct area band, and rotate its offerings of food crafted with beer. Admission to the Brews Blues & BBQ series is free, as is Saturday ferry service from Manhattan or Brooklyn to Governor's Island and back.

The Beach at Governors Island, 1 Carder Rd, is only accessible by boat from Brooklyn and Manhattan on the Governors Island Ferry departing from the BatteryMaritime Building or Fulton Ferry Landing during hours when Governors Island is open. The fare on the Governors Island Ferry is free. Information on ferry schedules is available at www.govisland.com/html/visit/directions.shtml.
