Black Thought, is an American rap artist and the lead MC of the Philadelphia-based hip hop group The Roots. Black Thought and The Roots have a solid and devoted following. Thought, who co-founded The Roots with drummer ?uestlove (Ahmir Thompson), is widely lauded for his complex and politically aware lyrical content, and his sharply honed live performances.
In case you haven't heard, the Money Making Jam Boys consist of Truck North, Sugar Tongue Slim, Dice Raw and the legendary Black Thought. Don't you dare call them a supergroup, though. They're simply a group with superstar talent looking to bogart the popular rap circles with sincere lyricism. The Hip-Hop jury has reached a verdict and they find wack rappers guilty and order them to be executed by the tenacious quartet. Hip-Hop Nation is uber familiar with lead Emcee of The Legendary Roots Crew, Black Thought, and to a lesser extent (through several features on Roots albums dating back to the band's sophomore offering Do You Want More?) Dice Raw. Truck North grew up with (Roots keyboardist) Kamal, so he was always around the hoop, which led to his work on Tipping Point, Game Theory, and Rising Down.
