Emerging Leaders Initiative Mixer
Crossing Thresholds, in support of the Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI), invites you to Spring Into Action at our Inaugural engagement mixer!
Please join us for a fun evening while learning about Crossing Thresholds' incredible work serving the children of Kenya. ELI acts as a subcommittee within Crossing Thresholds, with a mission to highlight how young people play an important role in nonprofit leadership and to show our young students that the next generation can rise together.
We are excited to feature food from Sherekea Catering, a NYC-based caterer serving authentic Kenyan and Swahili cuisine. Vivian Akinyi Achieng, the head chef was born and raised in Kenya and is excited to join the Crossing Thresholds and ELI team. We will serve an array of appetizers (vegetarian options available), non-alcoholic beverages, beer and wine.
Did you know it only costs $500 to educate a student for a year?
At Crossing Thresholds our goal is to develop well-rounded students who can grow beyond their circumstances of poverty. We will have clues placed around the room that tell you exactly what goes into educating a student for a year. If you find them all, you get five free raffle tickets! Keep an eye on our social media pages leading up to the event for clues to the scavenger hunt!
Giving back comes in many forms, and they all have value! Whether with time, money, or other resources, this is a give-what-you-can event.
